A Biblical Approach to Individual & Family Counseling

Individual Counseling

Sometimes, within a family, a single person yearns for, or is recommended for, individual counseling.  It may be a child, an adolescent, a teenager or an adult.  If you have a loved one who is suffering from any difficult circumstance ranging from bullying to low self-esteem to friendship issues to conflicts with in-laws, Heartfelt Christian Counseling can offer illuminating counsel.  As always, incorporating God’s truths into life’s struggles can produce more healing and more restoration than one might ever think possible!  God is in the business of healing; and Heartfelt is in the business of guiding our clients in God’s direction and watching God do His work!

James 1:2-3—“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.”

Family Counseling

Many times, between job requirements and social engagements and friends vying for your attention, personal hobbies and to-do lists, the most important people in one’s world can take an unplanned backseat to other people or things.   Spouses can feel slighted and children can feel unloved resulting in a whole slew of unintended consequences such as quiet resentment, overt anger, or even alcoholism or infidelity.

Christian families can suffer the same challenges as any non-Christian family.   Heartfelt’s Christian counselors are adamant about highlighting what Jesus expects of each family member towards one another and honoring His plan for the focus on the family as opposed to honoring the desires of what others—friends, relatives, co-workers—outside the family, expect from family members.

Acts 5:29 “But Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’ “
